Default Should i replace crank sensor when doing andy bracket?

So, i will be buying an andy bracket and jut wondering should i just replace the crank angle sensor while i am there?
are these the sort of things that wear out and therefore its a good idea to just replace it?
or should i leave it until maybe it just breaks one day?
i have no idea but trying to learn stuff and make my car run as good as possible

They are easy to replace, and a spare is always a good idea on this engine from reading

The CKPS will fail partially in how its single signal is utilized for things like fuel pump enable ( a safety design )

You can have a fuel pump fail to turn on but have a good tach gauge and timing but no CEL code P0335

The Camshaft position sensor is CEL code P0340 so they are close in code #

I don't have the Andy Bracket but I'm sure he has good instructions

Keep in mind the CMPS adjustment is in reference to the crankshaft mark / arrow and not the missing tooth which will now be biased 5 degrees from my understanding

Make sure to wipe the sensor face clean of grime if present , this is different then the connector

I didn’t. The bracket installation is well documented and simple: two bolts and the sensor attachment.

You don't have to, but you might consider it, because:

CKPS FAILURE IS THE #1 CAUSE OF RUNNING ISSUES WITH THE AJ16. Ok maybe the coil-on-plug system is #1? But often the failure of the CKPS is intermittent, with the engine stalling at random and then running fine, or suddenly losing power temporarily. And that's hard to diagnose.

So if you have not replaced it during your ownership, it is one of the best and most important preventive maintenance items. Then you will keep your "still good" spare in the car with an 8mm wrench. You'll always be ready.

You will already be there with the ANDY bracket, so why not. Although it is easy to change out at any time.

thats exactly what my thinking was. esp given i am trying to ensure it runs smooth and get better fuel economy from it.
always good to have a known working second hand as a spare also.
