Default Tail light issue

My dash light for a tail light bulb being out flickers when I drive and goes on when I apply the brake pedal. The bulb in the holder is good. This is the bulb setup on my passenger side. When I turn on the right (passenger) side turn signal the dash light for a bulb outage also flickers. How can I fix this? Is it a ground issue?

Successful lights and a successful divorce both depend on good grounds!

I understand that not all lamps are comparable! I suggest you swap them around and see if it makes any difference.

I am quite sure it's a ground. Is there a diagram out there for the various ground points so I can check?

I suspect you have blown the formerly working stop light circuit by overloading it. Each stop lamp is on a separate circuit so that "BULB OUT"can be determined. It is a known defect in the SCLM, (Security and Locking Module) to short an output device called a HSSSS (High Side Solid State Switch). You can replace the SCLM without reteaching the keys, but the key fob is married to the module. Make sure your replacement SCLM has the same fob frequency and yiou can marry it without too much drama- see archives.

I finally figured this out. My 5 AMP parking light fuse on the passenger side was blowing out. I found a bad coil back boot (cylinder 2), replaced the boot, fuse and what do you know. The lights all work now.
