If the key lock is NEVER used, I have seen them seize from grit or debris so extra effort is required to get the mechanism moving again.
I have little sympathy for those that rely on the electric opening and then panic when the mechanical method becomes inop. (stuck)
As long as the black regular key is the correct one (not the VALET) it will eventually open the boot lid with lubrication and persistence.
I use the key every few weeks whether the car needs it or not!!

Have you tried the basics? Spray some WD40 in the keyhole. Put the key in and out a few times. Jiggle it around a bit. Spray some more WD40 in the keyhole. Then leave it overnight. Try to open it with the key again in the morning.
I have dealt with boot lid locks that were neglected by the owners that required 20 minutes of lubrication and manipulation to get the seized lock operational.

Ive used this method multiple times. Use a flashlight through the bottom right hole of license plate holder towards the center. You’ll see the latch, use a long flathead screwdriver to push the latch over.
