Unusual instrument lighting problem: X300
Hi all,
My wife’s high mileage but immaculate 1997 3.2 X300 has a very unusual electrical problem. When the car is parked and the lights off, with or without the key in the ignition, the instrument lights remain illuminated. We keep the instrument lights turned down to minimise battery drain and as the car is in regular use it is not a great problem but I would like to fix it. I have no idea where to start.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated
regards
Al

G'day Alan,
Turn the intrument light dimmer control to it's brightest setting then further turn it until it clicks and that should sort out your problem.
If you select any dimmed setting while driving then for some weird reason, that only jaguar know, when you turn the car off the instrument lights will remain illuminated at the previous dimmed setting. At least that is how it works in my car
Cheers,
Jeff.
