Washer bottle X300 3.2 1997
Hi all,
First time post on this forum although I'm a regular contributor to the Classic XJ6 and XJ12 forum.
My wife has a beautiful X300 3.2 as her work car. It has given superb service and is now reached 4000km with no major work and still presents almost as new. I assumed it would have been replaced ages ago and 10 years back even bought her an XK8 but I can't prize her out of the XJ .
One problem has been getting a replacement for the horrible plastic washer bottle located in the right hand guard. They are very vulnerable to damage. . I am having trouble getting a replacement one
Has anyone any advise for replacing it with a more common reservoir from a different car. All thoughts, tips and advise appreciated.
thank you

I believe X300 and X308 have similar washer bottles (but they have different parts number, probably the X300 has sensor cable somewhere attached). X308's still available new (LNC7038CF) but X300's are no longer available. The best place to look for them is the breakers. Is you undertray gone so the washer bottle got hit more often? See interesting discussions in this thread Washer fluid reservoir fatality grrr, about the X308 washer bottle.

Memory, kind of sucks a bit.
BUT
Mine got clobbered, parking barrier, and I also had no luck with one.
Visited the local U Pull it, eventually found a Commodore tank "looked" like half a chance, $5, and Cut and shut the lower section of the Commodore tank to the Jag tank, JB Weld to finish it off, plus a 6 pack of inner lube, and still there 8 years on, and it holds water, whoopee.
Your down here, lots of options I reckon.
