Hi there, I believe that there must be different wiper arm lengths as I have just replaced mine, UK model and they had to 15inches. I had previously fitted 17 inch ones and ther overlapped the chrome trim by 2inches on the near side.
Even 15inch blades have a slight overhang, but acceptable I feel. Regards, Danny.

The Eurocarparts web site predicted one that fitted perfectly when I replaced mine and cost Ł3.50 delivered free.

OK, I have done some research. My car is a series 3, there are different sizes for driver and passenger sides. The part number for the driver's side is DAC6135 (400mm or 15 inches). The passenger side part number is DAC 10273 (357mm or 14inches) This explains why there is a slight overhang on the nearside.

It's interesting you were at the parts store and they didnt, at the very least, measure it on-car, or remove it, to find a match.

I just measured the single blade on my '96 and it's 20 inches. A 21 should work.

A search at Rockauto shows the majority to be 21, with one or two at 20.

A Series 3 (to '92) is not the x300 (94-97) platform, which is where this thread is located. It should also be noted the OP specifically asked about the "single" wiper blade.

Just wanted to clear that up for those who might be lurking, so they are not mis-informed.

My '97 XJ Vandan Plas is 20.5 inches, so I believe that either 20" or 21" would
be sufficient...I'd go with the 20".
(BTW, I just went out and checked with a tape.)
