Default What is this and where does it go?

Exactly as title says….. found this just hanging around near my airbox.
need to fix the wiring on it but also need to know what it is and where it goes.

Coolant level sensor ?

should be one in the reservoir tank

It clips into a tubular recess in the base of the Expansion Tank (see item 3):



The harness looks a bit chewed at the connector. Perhaps a PO was trying to turn off a warning light........

yeah i think the sensor might be busted as it looks like the insulation was stripped back and the wires twisted together to close the connection and bypass the sensor.

Maybe there was once a problem that has now been resolved?
I patched up the wiring, turned the car in, had coolant level warning, put the sensor where it belongs and error gone…..
so i dunno but all G the wiring is patched and the the sensor is in its home.

what looks to be a small quick easy job always comes a big mission....
