Wood over air bag removal

Default Wood over air bag removal

I have removed every piece of wood on my car so that I can refinish it. But, the darn piece on the air bag...I don't have a clue. Can someone please help me? Pleeease.

I think that all you have to do is remove the glove box and there are four tiny bolts holding the panel in at the base of it on either side. It may also be strapped to the airbag, but if you get the glovebox out of the way you should see how it goes. If you do need to remove the airbag, please disconnect the battery and let the system discharge for a minute or two. Knock on wood, i have never seen one go off unplanned, but there is a first time for everything. As well, if you are not comfortable dealing with it, if you come across having to remove the airbag, then let a decent mechanic remove it.

Thank you, that was it. A metal "L" bracket at each side of the frame. I didn't really fancy the black wood stain from the factory. I had to change it.
