Default X308 door on an X300?

Hi

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times.

I am based in Cape Town and have a 1997 XJ Sport the X300 model. After some road rage incident where the guy rammed may car and sped off I need a replacement drivers door. I have been offered a door from and X308 model and was wondering if it would fit. Concerns are the hinges and also the interior door panel?

If you can help the advice would be very welcome.

Until then I will have to drive my XF 3.0 Diesel Sport

I think it likely would fit, but can't say for certain. The body in that area between the X300 and X308 appear to be identical.

The interior door card/panel is obviously significantly different. But again, you probably can make the X300 card fit with some work, or it may just snap right on.

Hopefully someone can confirm.

Sorry to hear that someone rammed your car. Ouch.

I think there are minor differences that could prove
to be major obstacles.

On the X308 the rubber seal is on the door while
on the X300 the rubber seal is on the door frame.

There are also slight differences in the way the corners
are built in the frame for chassis stiffening reasons.

Or so I recall from reading somewhere, so please
verify independently
