XJR6 shop manual, code reading
I'm contemplating an XJR6 and was just looking for shop manuals online so I can school myself.
I found
1996 Jaguar XJR Workshop Service Repair Manual
Could any of you experience XJR6'rs share what you think is the best 'how to' guide out there, and what code readers you are using? I'd like to go into this as much for knowledge as possible.
TIA

Hi Oliver,
There is a great wealth of knowledge and documents already posted on this forum. For example, check out the resources available here:
X300 'HOW TO' quick links
One of the resources available at the DOCUMENTS link in that thread is the X300 Workshop Manual:
Jaguar X300 Service Manual
Additional resources such as Electrical Guides are also available there.
Another good resources is jagrepair.com, hosted by our member Gus, where helpful documents such as New Model Introduction Manuals, Electrical Guides, Diagnostic Trouble Codes Summaries and Technical Service Bulletins are available.
As far as diagnostic scan tools go, the X300 On-Board Diagnostics are relatively primitive (1996 was the first year OBDII standards were required in the U.S.). Most if not all available codes can be read with any generic OBDII scanner. A particularly useful and inexpensive solution is either an ELM327 Bluetooth OBDII adapter and the Torque Pro app on an Android phone, or a WiFi adapter and an app like DashCommand on an iPhone.
Cheers,
Don
