02 jag xj8 jack stand points
Definitely no keyway there! So you passed the Saturday Morning Observation Test! LOL
It is a little unusual that the harmonic balancer is not specifically aligned, but hey this is Jaguar, so we shouldn't be surprised.

This is direct from Blackonyx's detailed removal/install and it does not specify like all the other instructions.
MM. Refit crankshaft pulley:
1) As when removing the pulley you need to keep the crankshaft from rotating. I used pry bar between the drive plate and torque converter with the handles supported with a jack to keep it from moving.
2) Place some form of shield behind the radiator to protect it
5) Remove front crankshaft seal protector
6) Put a good amount of grease on crankshaft seal
7) Install a new o-ring on the pulley. Apply some grease to the o-ring.
8) Install the crankshaft pulley
9) Install the split lock ring on to the crankshaft
10) Install the new crankshaft pulley bolt
11) Make sure that the crankshaft setting tool is removed from the torque converter.
12) Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt (24mm 6 point socket (15/16" will also work)) to 364-386 Nm
13) Remove your method of securing crank.
14) Reinstall the two covers on the torque converter housing.

Morning HH
I read that too... I'm not seeing much of anything there expect the metal the the tool was locked into... hell I try it.
I also don't see the flywheel teeth as others have mentioned for the pry bar.
I should buy a flashlight these matches are burning my fingers!

The flywheel teeth are on the back of the motor on the flywheel....for your starter to start the car....silly boy...
...do I have to have Mint Sauce show you this...lol
I would not recommend using the flywheel teeth to hold the crankshaft, once the harmonic balancer has "grabbed" the tapered collet you will be able to use the large crankshaft holding tool to tighten the crank bolt.
Back to the mowing and leaf burning.........................
Back to the mowing and leaf burning.........................
I found the access to the flywheel and I see the back side of the studs to the converter.. Just couldn't get a pry bar or anythingelse to hold or stay in place, I even tried using a jack.. after a few times back and forth I gave myself and break and started burning branches also...
Bob's Growing and learning how to attack So look out....

.
Also i wouldn't of used the flywheel teeth to hold the crankshaft. It was something I read that others have done....
That's why I came to you guys...
