I wouldn't worry about the ABS error right now, and I'm thinking that the ECM needs a little while to go through a check list to bring the rpms down, maybe if the cooling system can stay sealed long enough this can happen.

Tomorrow is, as you say, another day.

 

Hi guys .
Running rough, kinda it feels and sounds like a cylinder isn't firing . Tomorrow I'll fire up the Autel see if it shows me anything, all the coils and injectors were working before I started this. I did have to use 3 of the old injectors while the 3 new ones were sent back for warranty replacement.

The recommended anti-freeze for the X308 is Pentofrost-SF, mixed 50-50 with distilled water.

That's not available anywhere near me.
Is there a substitute I can use.
I've already ran 4 gallons of water Thu the system it's finally starting to come out clear I have a few more gallons of distilled water to go..

I been reading all about antifreeze. .. Head hurts now...
I don't want to spend $100 and wait a week...
Are you saying you guys only use jaguar antifreeze?
There has to be a substitute I can use that won't kill the engine overnight.

 

Just called advance auto they said they can get me 2 gallons by 1 PM 16.99

Ok guys ... I read enough getting the exact recommended antifreeze is not going to happen this weekend or next week.
Right or wrong Im going to use what I have on hand for now... I have 3.5 gallons of Zerex G-05 It's what I use in the volvo, for now I don't think it will harm much since it had rusty green water in it... I'll completely flush it 1st...

I used Prestone Dexcool...or Autozone/Advanced equivalent.

Have you seen any problems with using Prestone Dexcool.?
I don't mind getting the right or recommended antifreeze but unfortunately no one around here has it. Advance can get me 6qts by Tuesday. After that more by Friday, Maybe.
I don't want to wait.. need to get this car running and up to temp and check what's going on....

 

Mines been in for 6 yrs now and doing fine. I had to top off because of a new hose replacement about a yr and 1/2 ago, so my stuff is mostly fresh. I check it about every 6 months or so.

Just use Dexcool or any All-Makes/All Models Universal coolant, they’re all “dexclones”. Dexcool and the specced Texaco XLC are basically the same stuff, same goes for VW G12.

MrJ, NAPA auto parts has the Pentofrost-SF antifreeze. It is a little pricey, but you do dilute 50-50 so it's half the price it first appears.
