Ok, I couldn't find anything like this anywhere, so I'm looking for some help. My VDP had the driver door lock / latch system fail with the door closed. Removed the door panel, (with the door closed, not easy but doable). Replaced the latch assembly, good to go. As I'm putting the door panel back on, I test the windows, mirrors, etc. Nothing works, except the right rear passenger window button works the driver door window only...nothing else works from the panel. The connection is straight-forward, and keyed, so even I can't screw that up. All of the other doors / windows work as they should. Any ideas? Is it just a coincidence and the control module is bad? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

 

Disconnect the battery and reconnect.

First, thank you very much. Second, how does this actually work? I had the battery disconnected to change out the door latch, then reconnected it to put on the door panel. That's when I got the odd master switch behavior. Thanks again, you saved me time and money.

 

I don't know why, but if you connect the battery without the switchpack plugged it, this fault occurs.

I have had it happen several times over the years so I am quite familiar with this fault.
