Having recently purchased a one owner 1999 XJR with 64,000 miles I am in the process of getting all the faults sorted. I have replaced the front Shocks and towers, next job is rear shocks. I have several other issues.
I would like to find a Scanner/code reader that can identify the SRS fault and ABS and traction control faults I have. I have purchased two and ended up returning both. Help!
I have a iCarsoft i930 scanner that seems to read all the codes on my Jaguar XJR and VDPs. This version only works with Jaguars and Land Rovers; which is not a problem for me since I have another generic scanner when I fool with other cars for pals.
It reads all the modules that are present or that report to the ECU. Even the seat controllers!
Here's a link to the manufacturers page with details. Sort of pricey but you can find it a bit less at the usual purchasing portals. At least it will work perfectly with our old cars....
Thank you David, this is exactly what I'm looking for having had an IDS Rotunda go kaput after 11 years. It got a bit unwieldy with laptop, charger, dongle and extension cables.
This hopefully gives me a read of modules. One on route ;-)
This one seems to be a good choice as it supports the systems we are most interested in. ABS, DPF, EPB, SAS, SRS, TPMS Thinkscan S99 ABS SRS Diagnostic Tool Car Full Engine OBD2 Scanner Code Reader
