Code Scanner, which one to get?
I can't get confirmation from any source if my XK8 has been read by any of the OBD scanners on ebay. Remember, my trip to autozone resulted in no reading from their unit. So, how about giving me some links and makes/models that I can pick up my own scanner. $100 is around my price range.
thanks!

i got this one http://www.canobd2.com/Products/Tool...27d26dcff5f3ea
and It was able to give some ABS codes, when my rear wheel sensor ring rusted and broke it gave the appropriate C-code ( Chassis )
It was on sale for $150CAD here recently.- if you wanna make friends, spread the word you have a code reader. haahha

Check out Auto Enginuity. They have a new unit with a Jaguar module, however, the base unit with module and s/h will be about $500. From what I have read it does most everything.

I have used the AutoEnginuity with Fords for a while. I just bought the Jaguar module which is a simple activation code to turn on the enhanced Jag module. The base AE setup will read all your DTC's and give you some live performance data, but it will only work on the Powertrain system. without the enhanced jaguar module you will not get anything else. However, the enhanced module works great and will get everything off the ECU/ODBII and I know it supports CAN which is useful if you have a newer jaguar.
Hope this helps,

AutoEnginuity seems like the most affordable way to go.
I plan on getting the PC version, and the Palm software for use on my Treo, and of course, the jag expansion package so that I can read those ABS and light faults. Just look at these sensors available to us.
Spending about $500, so perhaps I'll rent out the unit to our members to recoup some of that cost.
thanks for the leads guys!

I feel the need to repeat that the cheap code reader I got.. see above.. will read P and C code,, I have not had a B or U code yet but I suspect it will read them.
If I go to the site for canobd2, you can enter the B and U codes and the website comes up with the explanation of the code. I think that means that their reader can get those codes.
What still remains to be seen is if Airbag faults can be reset. they are in the B codes..
