Now stop that Mark. It's complicated enough trying to update one of these beasts. (It was funny, though). Next we'll be hearing about hyperdrive lubes.

Thanks in advance!

BUT... you really need the proper English synthetic INDICATOR fluid, Not the foreign rubbish blinker fluid, otherwise the Hazard lights (4 ways) don't work properly!

What was the brand of blinker fluid you were suggesting, Mark?

Has anybody tried the new LED blinker fluid? The HID and Halogen stuff is so yesterday.

Hi Catch me if you can!,

The answer to your question is going to depend on the date of manufacture of your car. Enter the details for your car at the link below and consult the chart for the date of manufacture:

http://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/car_c...529&engine=4.0

Let us know if you have any trouble figuring it out -I don't think it will be quite as difficult for your car as it was for Jennifer's.

Cheers,

Don

Yes, the foreign stuff is truly rubbish. More so since the demise of indicators
on the wings.

Anyways, they don't care ... they don't use them anyways.

Ok ... Super DOT4 brake fluid.

There really is a difference. It's just that there was no specific DOT classification for it.

It turns out that it is a low viscosity formulation meant to help with ABS functionality
at low temperatures.

ATE SL-6 is one such formulation, Pentosin has an equivalent.

So that's why "Super"! Had wondered (but not hunted up why). How low is low?

Brake fluid has become more complicated -- we now have all the LV products (colors)

For years I used the MB DOT E brake fluid -- It was relatively cheap and I always had it around. As the number of MB's in the house has dropped I have switched to using the Pentosin (OE fro Porsche) in the big can and flush a couple of the cars to use it up.

My 02 XJR bought new still has the OE fluid .. but my other one was flushed with Pentosin last year.

It is an overlooked service.
