2001 XJR wont spin over?
It wont spin over, unlocks ok, headlights all bright etc but just wont even try to spin over?
It did have a jump start as its been stood for a bit.
I'm very new to jags and grateful for all help.
Is there a chance I have blown a fuse (what numbers to check would handy) or maybe a relay or is there a master reset facilty ? ? ? ?
Is there anyway I can re program the key? (The remote fob/plip is fine) in case the immobiliser has freaked out?
Got me baffled as it drove fine a few days back?
Never let me down before.

Andy can you hear the intercooler pump when you turn the ignition on?
Does it make any attempt, like a click sound?
Have you fitted a fresh fully charged battery?
I'd check the connections to and around the fuse boxes on the passenger side under the bonnet. Undo, clean with a bit of sandpaper and bolt back up, they get covered in oxide over time. You could have bust a fuse, but lets check the simple stuff first.

It requires a lot of power to start, I can have radio, headlights, gauge lights, everything...and it still won't turn over if the voltage isn't there.
Also, try to move to Neutral and give it a shot, then back to Park if that doesn't work. Though not totally common, a neutral safety switch can require either adjustment or replacement, as the P and N selection isn't consistent (electronics) and you can only fire the starter in either of the two positions.

Can't help you on the key not turning... but I have had the car not turn over and it might be a bad connection at the main fuse block in the trunk. If you check where the positive cable runs to from the battery, that might be where the source of the problem lies. Gus has something on his site about this if I'm not mistaken.

If your key will not turn on take the steering wheel and wiggle it as you turn the key. It may take a little force to wiggle the steering wheel in both directions as you turn the key. As Matt had suggested try starting the car in “N” you will need to apply the brake to move the shifter to “N” from “P” and give it a try. If that is not working you need to check the high Power Protection Module located in the trunk of the car near the battery. If you are going to be checking it I would Highly suggest that you disconnect the battery and at that time check the battery terminals. See if this gets you going.
