308 rear view mirror
Searched the 308 postings but didn't find a relevant answer. Just purchased a 2000 XJR and the only niggly issue is the rear view mirror- looks like it has sme sort of bubble or air/fluid interface across the top third- thoughts? thanks in advance- d
Contact www.sybesmas.com.
They should be able to rebuild your mirror for roughly $100.
Do not come in contact with the fluid...it is toxic.

The problem with the dark blue/black/purple "goo" is not only that it's toxic, but also VERY corrosive, and when it leaks out of the mirror (it WILL!) it will eat everything in it's path. Ski slope, J gate, etc. I searched the junk yards, and Ebay, for several weeks, and I found out that Sybesma is the best way to go. They replace the liquid goo, with gel, and there will never be any leaks again. Used miror from the Bay will be the same (obsolete) mirror with liquid, and it WILL leak again eventually.
Go with Sybesma, and no worries.

Followed process. Worked perfectly! Off to the shop for the repair tomorrow. Love the Forum. Thanks to Gordo..and to Retro for the thread location.
No problem, glad to help.
I need to do tackle the job myself, although my mirror isn't showing the exact symptoms as the pics I've seen.
No bubbles or anything, just real dim and hazy/dirty looking.
Sorta looks like it's in "dim" mode all the time.
