98 VDP Issue
I just recently removed the throttle body to fix some old vacuum hoses and after doing so now the car does not want to start on the first turn all the time. some times it takes 4-5 cranks and pumping the gas peddle. I checked all the hoses I removed and they are all in place. Is there something wrong with my fuel pump or did I miss a step in putting everything back together?
Did you torque the throttle body bolts to their torque spec (18 - 24 Nm)? Was the throttle body gasket in good condition after you removed the throttle body?
Look for something that may have gotten broken when you reinstalled the throttle body.
Check the coolant feed and coolant return hoses to see if they are in good shape and securely connected to the throttle body.
Check the breather pipe to the A-Bank camshaft cover and the O-ring seal on breather pipe.
Here are illustrations I copied and put in a JPEG file showing the Breather pipe fitted to the A-Bank camshaft cover and the O-ring seal:

Look for vacuum leaks on or near the Air Pipe (MAF Air Flow Sensor) as sugguested by forum member Gus in another thread - " check that the filter cover and MAFS are installed properly, plugs and all clamps/clips. At times when reinstalling the intake hose and air box we do not get it closed properly resulting in an air leak. It is critical that you have no leaks in the intake system."
Here are 2 weblinks to jaguar classic parts webpage:
MAF - look at Duct Seals items 3 and 6 on the diagram:
