Default ABS code C1155 on jaguar xj8 vanden plas 2001

hello guys I just recently purchased my 2001 XJ8 Vanden Plas which has been a pleasure to drive. Just recently I started getting the ABS light come on, when I scanned it for the code it gave me C1155 it states left side speed sensor failure. Can someone help me with this issue? The car drives perfectly, no noises or anything whatsoever. Thanks

There's several threads on cleaning the sensors here, that should remedy your situation. Search "ABS Wheel Sensor" or your code.

This is a fairly common thing and a popular topic. It seems the consensus opinion is that it's usually either, 1) low battery or bad ground/connections; 2) a wheel sensor that needs cleaning/adjusting/replacing; or 3) the ABS module board needs solder re-flowed, or the unit needs to be rebuilt or replaced. As far as driving without ABS, people have done it for years without killing themselves.

A bad connection to the sensor or broken cable are also possible.

For some reason I have seen a few cars with this same fault lately. I have replaced the wheel speed sensor link harnesses and some customers have as well.

The fault recurs after the repair and codes cleared.

I installed the ABS module in my 2001 XJ8 (it has no faulty components) and the DTC shows C1155. I tried to clear it and it will not clear.

Determined FAULTY MODULE!!!!!!

Installed another repaired (C1095) module and car is happy.

I'm glad I have extra JLM21323 modules.

WHAT IS GOING ON??????????

I have a module on the shelf with the same problem, Bob. I suspect it's a problem with the board but have not tried to mess with it. Could there be a capacitor failure as occurs with the early 97 XK8 ECU?

I don't know what the fault is. It's always the C1155 so there must be a common thing happening with the circuit board.

Red face ABS/Traction control Failure

I know , another request for help on this topic. I am a new member and this is my first post. I corrected the solder joint on my module as clearly directed by the excellent efforts by fellow members -Thank You, and installed-without opening the brake lines. Everything has been OK until yesterday when the fault indicators came back. I now have to restart the car and the faults go away for as long as I drive the car. Stop and let the car rest and I must repeat the sequence.Any thoughts. My car -2001 XJ8L with 47000 miles that I got from an Estate sale in Ohio.

Without DTCs you are just guessing.

The MIL does not have to on. The fault is logged in the memory.
