ABS/TRAC Warning Lights
My XJ8L is in the shop right now on an unrelated matter, but I asked the mechanic to check out my ABS/TRAC light issue and he quickly said it would most likely be the ABS pump and told me they typically put in a rebuilt unit for $450.
I mentioned it wasn't throwing a code and he grabbed his reader and confirmed it was in fact throwing a bad pump code that required an ABS reader and wouldn't come up in ODBII.
FYI on the ABS codes if you have the same issue and aren't getting anything on your ODBII reader. I believe I have seen posts here in the forum on sources for the pumps, but am curious to hear from anyone who has replaced one successfully.

First be sure all sensors and plugs are clean and functioning properly before going into the ABS module. I hope this helps http://www.gusglikas.com/images/Auto...e%20Repair.pdf
Check your alternator and battery. My lights were coming on b/c my alt was down two diodes so it was just barely keeping a charge and in idle situations was loosing charge. Car ran fine for 2 weeks or so like that. Never did get a battery light.
Awesome stuff guys! I will definitely run down these possibilities before buying a new controller. Got to love those nice clear detailed photos of the ABS repair.

When you see the sticker price you will know why reconditioned is an option if you do not fix it yourself.

Thanks. Yes, it was bad pump code. It is my understanding that the solder joint issue in the controller will throw a bad pump code, yes? I thought that would be where I would start.
