adding fender indicators
some pictures to assist others with their pursuits of this conversion
list of items:
1. set of orange markers
2. set of clear markers
3. wire plug for the side you need to make a harness for (on most cars the passenger side already has the wire ready to go
4. 2 lengths of appropriate wire (about 8 feet for each strand)
5. solder or connectors or whatever floats your boat to secure wires
6. heat shrink and heat gun
7. zip ties
Important tips:
1. you have to file away some tabs from the white markers to make them fit, compare the clear and orange ones and you will see what you need to remove
orange markers needed for the metal clips and they also came with one plug so I could make the wiring harness needed for one side. clear markers to install on the car

removed the rusty clips from the orange lenses, wire brushed them, and spraypainted black to extend life and not add blatantly rusty stuff to my car

Harness ready for install

Location of the splice. On my car I needed to splice into the green wire with white stripe on it and the black wire from the 4 wires right by the side of the front bumper. Confirm this on your car before you cut, things may be different for different years.

Jaguar XJ8/XJR Side Marker Light Kit, Eurotoys,Ltd.
Anyone have experience with this vendor?
I have considered orange side markers just for fun.

The orange versions were standard in the UK.
If you buy a new set of those, the job becomes a lot simpler and cheaper. Usually available on ebay.co.uk
Mine came with the bulb holders and new bulbs already installed.

Looks good.
You might be interested in having a look at the 'group buy' from KLEARZ.COM where you can buy all clear/smoked variants of side markers and indicators. These mudguard/fender lights are in the making. (if I was more computer literate I would put in a link) Sorry.
Cheers,Neil

all 4 of mine included bulbs and bulb holders but none of the bulbs were orange so I still had to acquire orange bulbs for my application

Nice pictures XJR02!
I did this conversion recently, but since I am a stickler for originality, I stuck with the orange lenses. The right hand side of the car was indeed plug and play. On the left side, I removed the front wheel, and fender liner so I could run my harness from the new side marker along the inside top of the fender through the stock wiring clips that are there, then down to the front turn signal. I think the harness needed to be about 8-9' long as I recall. Also, I used IDCs to attach the new harness to the existing turn signal wires so no factory wiring or connectors were changed. All in all, this is an easy addition.
I am very happy with the results, and now feel like I have more of a fighting chance for a safe lane change on crowded S. California freeways.
Anyone need some fender leapers cheap?

I just took out my side repeaters, I was never a fan of them, they reminded me too much of a lot of old Leyland vehicles (which use to own Jaguar).
I will be fitting a pair of side vents from an F Type with some LEDs behind, already cut the hole just need to box it up
