Cool Alarm set off

I have had an issue with no chirp when locking the car and no chirp when trying to program remotes. No seat memory chirp , so how do I set the alarm off to know if the alarm speaker is working ? Will I need to go to the dealer for them to check if the chirp is activated ?
Thanks Geoff

Mine doesn't chirp either, but I guarantee my alarm works. I set mine off one day playing with the remote and a couple my neighbors came out it made such a racket. I believe I either pressed and held the lock button or pushed it a few times.
As for the chirp, we both may have this failed part Part no. LNC2620AC | Security sounder parts from Jaguar Classic Parts UK

If the car is locked, and you push the light swith on the FOB 3 times, the alarm will go off.
I think I have read it was a default setting for the USA, so you can try.
Be prepared to open the car and insert the key, cause it is realy loud ...

And invariably, you'll try mashing the buttons on the remote in a half-panic while you fumble to get into the car, praying you can get it to shush before the rest of the world is looking.

Just sit in the car, press the lock button once on the remote so you don't dead lock the doors and then open the door. The alarm will go off, then you just press the unlock button on the remote to stop it.

Not all cars have the panic function programmed to work with the remote.

for some odd reason the US does not have Dead-Locking, Intrusion Sensing, or the Passive Alarm.

The European cars didn't have the "chirp" when locking, it's considered anti social. There is a girl who lives 2 streets away from me who has an after market alarm fitted to her VW, when she locks/unlocks it I can hear it clearly. Not nice. On the Jag the indicator lights flash, twice for normal locking and then an extended third single flash if you dead lock the car.

It is strange all that security is deactivated on US cars though.

Yup, it is just a standard Security System.

So I still can't get the alarm to go off , did as instructed, no joy !
How can I tell if it's the security module or just the sounder faulty ? The lights don't flash or any noise at all .
How can I read any faults or changes to security module? Do I need to go to jag or a good locksmith with reader as don't they hook up car to reprogram keys ! I guess via the security module? Anyone have some ideas , lights flash on double lock on fob .
Cheers Geoff
