Default Any suggestion for Chrome Delete with 3M Vinyl and Black color ideas

I have the chrome all around my windows. Is it easy or possible to remove the chrome pieces around the passenger windows and then apply the vinyl? I'm thinking about getting the 3m 2080 series vinyl in gloss black but learning towards satin black. My XJR is ebony black. I wany to chrome delete all around the passenger windows and front and rear window, like the XJR100. I do like some shiny sheen to the black but not a lot. Any suggestion on this project for my next weekend is appreciated.

If you remove the chrome trim pieces, I believe you’ll see the welds of the window frames underneath. Vinyl (especially in black) will fade easily if keep in the sun all the time. I would carefully remove the chrome window trim and have it powder coated on the one side.

Is there any instructions online to remove the Chrome pieces or any basic instructions? I think having it painted is the best way but that is some thing I want to consider too before I do this. Thanks.

I repainted the roof gutter trims and window surrounds with an automotive satin black 2K - 2 coats and they still look fine after over a decade. I would grey scotchpad your chromes to key the paint, a good etch primer lightly first then good coats of satin black.
The window chromes are a bit of a faff, but with blunt/plastic trim tools you can chase them out of the rubber seals, a flat tool to lift the rubber and a smear of dish soap helps get them back in, I fear the vinyl only lasts a few years before you're doing it again.
Side note, the chrome is just painted stainless trims on the UK/Euro XJR's, including the waist seals.
