Boot Open switch

Jaguar XJ8 4.0 1998.

Hi Forum,

I have tried to search the forum and also read the workshop manual without getting a clear solution how to remove the Boot (trunk) open/light level switch below to the left of steering coloumn (LHD) for changing the light bulb.

Do I have to remove the instrument cluster to get hold of the release "pegs" at the back or is it a simpler solution to release the switch from the panel?
