brakes problem, I need ideas
ok,
so i recently replaced my rear rotors and pads and the drivers side wheel bearings and outer half shaft u joint.
Now i am having a brake problem. when applying the brakes they are nice and firm, breaking is great until the car is almost stopped.
the ABS seems to kick in. the pedal vibrates and buzzes, and i can hear the abs noise.
I unplugged the abs fuse and the problem stopped... so i am sure it is abs related.
I am getting no warning lights.
i am thinking it could be the wheel speed sensor for the wheel i did the bearings on, since i had the abs ring off, etc..
i would think that this would throw a code.
Is there any way to check this to see if it is the issue?
where would i start troubleshooting the problem?

The way I would diagnose is to check for DTCs as RJ237 has stated.
If no DTCs then you could use 'datalogger' in WDS, IDS etc. to read all the wheel speed sensors to see the live data. A speed sensor that indicates a different speed from the rest will activate the system.
Could be a faulty/damaged sensor or a damaged or loose reluctor sensor ring.

FWIW I had a problem with a loose reluctor ring after a wheel bearing replacement. The ABS behaved a little weird....kicking in only on low speed turns!
Removing the wheel speed sensor for a look-see I discovered that I was able to easily wiggle the reluctor with a screwdriver.
Dropped the hub carrier down, cleaned area, reinstalled reluctor a Loctite added. No problems since.
Can't really explain why it happened but apparently the interference fit of the ring isn't very tight to begin with. (?)
Cheers
