Default Cam locking tool specs.

Anybody have some insight on where I can get the specs for the cam locking tool for the 2001 XJ8. I've got somebody that I showed a picture of it to and they think they could make a set for me.

There are not specifications that I know of. It is really a simple fixture that can be made with a piece of angle iron, washers and three bolts.

Make it and post the results.

That's actually a great idea! I've got a shop full of oak and maybe even some walnut I could use. Any idea on what the bolt sizes and center are? I suppose it would also be helpful to know what the offset on the legs are.

Did some picture search...
The shape of the original cam locking tool is quite a challenge to reproduce.

But seeing the following kit It shouldn't be too complicated. The tool could be shaped much more straight forward...

In the process of my search I found another VERY detailed DIY for the timing chain job with lots of pictures...
