Carplay in our Jaguars (Double DIN)
Hi there
As I use the Jaguar XJR daily in summer time, I became a bit frustrated by using the CD-Changer to store music.
I really love the carplay options which (Audi and others) offers. Looking for an option to use this system in an older car I found the following:
I would love to use a system likes this:
What is needed to be done to make this work with the standard speakers? I read about relocating the airbag modules in order to provide enough depth.
Thank you for your help.
I will write an instruction how to do this as soon I start this project.
Have a nice day!
Cheers

I had my system upgraded w/ all new equipment professionally installed (Cabin Speakers : Rockford Fosgate P165 6.5" 2-ways, Head Unit : Kenwood DPX501BT ,Memphis Audio Amp & 12inch Subs).
It's not just the airbag sensor that needs to be moved, you will need to modify (cut) some of the centre dash structure as well... but it has definitely been done before with great results.
Looking forward to any pictures you have of the process
