Hey guys, i ordered new door speakers for the front doors, their website stated they were 5.25. I later saw somewhere on our forum they were 6.5? Will 5 25 speakers work. I just hate to pull the door panels if they are the wrong size. Thanks

The outer (maximum) diameter of the Jag door speaker housing is 6.5 in. but the diameter of the speaker diaphragm is 5.25 in. so it depends which of the two diameters the seller used to state the diameter of the speakers he was selling. Usually, the speakers with the diaphragm diameter of 5.25 in. are called "6.5 in." because the speaker housing has this diameter so you might get speakers that are considerably smaller than the original ones (but you may be lucky). Any detailed specs on the website showing the dimensions of the speakers, mounting hole spacing etc.? The mounting hole spacing of the Jag door speakers is 6.20 in. between two opposite holes.

I run Rockford Fosgate P165 6.5 2-ways in mine, they're excellent.

 

6.5" is the correct size, and definitely preferable to 5.25"

 

It looks like you will get speakers that are smaller than the mounting hole in the doors. The speaker dimensions guide below shows where the speaker diameter is measured so, for the Jag door speakers, you need 6.5 in. speakers.
