Default Check engine light

Well, my idiot light is on, I don't remember the specific code, however, it is because the fuel cap is not the original one that came on the car, I do not own an OBDII scanner, and I cannot get access to one presently, I need the light turned off TOMORROW. And I have no idea. Anyone have any idea how to get this light off, even if for just a day?

Thanks!

Disconnect the battery for 10 mins or so, the reconnect.

Are you sure it is the wrong gas cap and not a blockage in the evap system?

Three hot /cold engine cycles should do it. BTW, I assume you are either trying to get it inspected, or you are trying to sell it. If you reset the code with a scanner, you will not pass the inspection because the drive cycle will not be complete, unless you put a few miles on it, following the cycle.
