Default Correct Accessory Belt Idler Pulley NCA2221AA ?

As part of doing the timing chains I am replacing the tensioner and idler wheels of the serpaentine belt.

I ordered a new Idler from David Manners having given them the original part no. stamped on the wheel of the old part. I have been suppied with an alt. part no. C2C22758. I don't have a problem with alternate supplier but the wheel is different ! The new wheel has no flange on it. Should I use this part or will I have problems with the belt snaking around or worse still coming off ? Has the original part been supperceeded ?

See here,
Genuine Jaguar Parts and Jaguar Accessories for Classic Jaguars
Sounds like Manners sent the later engine pulley which will probably do the job if it's been superseded.
Speak to either Jaguar parts dept at the local dealers or Manners seeing as they supplied the part.
I listed the bearings for these pulleys on here somewhere, use a 1-1/4" socket to knock it out and knock a new one in, £2.00 each job done.

Looking at my original plastic pulley wheel it may not be possible to press out the old 6203 bearing. The O/D of the 6203 is 40mm. Measering the plastic wheels hubs each side is 38mm. Thus the bearing seems to be entombed in the plastic. Could be they are made in two halfs and then bonded together with bearing sandwiched between.

ah, I see, not metal then. On the S/C cars they're all metal, another plastic fantastic from Jaguar, bummer. I'll measure the diameter and get back to you, if they're the same why not fit the S/C pulley?

Looked up the Alloy pulley part no as AJ82266. However DM & Britishparts don't have it. Indeed DM links it to the plastic wheel part I already have from them. I guess they are probably only available from the Jag Main Dealer.

I did see the thread before, the gates 38028 part would be expensive to ship to the UK and looks the same as my C2C22758 part anyhow. ie Plastic wheel and no front lip. Indeed the label on the bag states the country of origin as Canada ! So it probably is the same part.

I just rang my local Jag dealer and the plastic wheel NCA2221AA is available for £42.12 + VAT and metal version (for later VIN's) AJ82266 is also £42.12 + VAT.

So if the metal one is directly interchangeable (not sure about this) I guess it makes sense to go for that. So if the car goes on for another 100k you can save a small sum and just press a new bearing in the next time it goes.

Here are the important dims of the plastic wheel so we can compare it to the metal wheel.
