Default Dashboard lights 2003 XJR

Fuse?

If not, does anyone know where to source the bulbs?

There are 4 bulbs in the circuit board on the back of the INSTPK.
Normal little 'peanut-bulbs' in plastic holders.
I don't remember if they are 4 watt or 5 watt?

Try banging on the area that’s dark. They may come back on. I had one bulb out for a long time and read someone make this suggestion and I tried it and the light came back on.

It does work sometimes to 'bang-the-dash'.
Kinda like smacking the side of an old tube TV set to get a better picture?

Checked the fuses.
They are good.

Those 'peanut bulbs' aren't so normal anymore.

Annapolis Jaguar doesn't have them.
Haven't had them for years.
Discontinued.

Haven't seen anything like them on line.

Looking for a friend. ;-)

The correct bulbs for the big guys in the gauge cluster are (from my notes):

3 watt, phillips 12256

or equivalent. Readily available online for peanuts.

You can get the same form factor in 4w (or it might be 4.2 watt?) from your local walmart or auto parts store, but they'll run a bit bright/hot vs the OEM bulbs, and may outshine the other lights. I did this for a week while I tracked down the correct part number.

The Dark Knight from Lucas Electronics has come to visit. 😆
Hopefully he won't stay.

But for the moment I have done my part to solve the issue.

- A hearty slap and bang on the dash didn't work.
- Checked fuses. All good.
- Removed instrument panel. All the bulbs are good.
- Checked for lose or cracked/broken wires. Didn't see any.

And as you can see from the yellow connector, FORD quality job #1. 😆

" I can see Paradise by the Dashboard Lights," again!

- Those peanut bulbs are readily available. I didn't understand they would come out of the holder.
- When I took the holder and bulb out, I gave the bulb a wiggle. The bulb was in there so tight I thought it was sold as a complete assembly.
- My bad.
