I noticed tonight that the car I just bought doesn't say JAGUAR on the engine. Is this odd? I thought they all featured the jag name in big letters on the engine.

Nope , that doesn't odd because you own a VDP . If your car was an Europe version it would state Daimler instead of nothing .
I didn't say odd but it's still odd at least they should have added Van Den Plus even though it's not a car builder as Daimler used to

 

Only the S/C engine has a silver "Jaguar " label on the left coil cover

 

Maybe somebody took the engine covers off. Mine says Jaguar V8 4.0 on both cam cover covers. See attachment.

 

I thought they all did. I'm in North America so there are only 4.0 V8s, though. I know mine says "Jaguar V8 4.0" on both covers.

 

SirJag, mine only says it on the plastic engine cover, if your car is missing the cover it may not say Jag anywhere, the cover is mostly aesthetic but does cover a wire-raceway on one side, so perhaps you should replace it before water (from rain) shorts something.

 

At least it doesn't say "Jaguar by Ford" and have Ghia badges.

 

Thanks. I think this is exactly the case. Do you (or anyone) happen to know where to get one of these covers... and/or its official name so I can research it. Engine cover?
