Default Drive Door Open Message - but it is closed tight

Any advice on where to trouble shoot a Driver Door Open message on the dash that wont go away? Drive door is closed tight but message doesnt go away.

Also affects dome light and puddle lamp. Dome light and puddle lamp will not go one when door is open

All other doors function properly with dome light and puddle lamps.

Thanks!

I believe it's located somewhere in the driver door but I have ever had to fool with it so I can't tell you the exact location. The connector shows DD which I assume means Driver Door.

The control module can't see that the door is closed. It relies on a microswitch to signal DOOR CLOSED.

The door closed microswitch on a 2002 Jaguar XJ8 is typically located within the door lock assembly.
This microswitch is responsible for detecting whether the door is closed or open. If you’re experiencing
issues with the door not registering as closed, it might be due to a faulty microswitch.

To access the microswitch, you’ll need to remove the door panel and the door lock assembly. Here are
some general steps:
  1. Remove the door panel: Carefully pry off the door panel using a trim removal tool to avoid damaging the clips.
  2. Locate the door lock assembly: The microswitch is usually integrated into the door lock mechanism.
  3. Inspect or replace the microswitch: Once you have access to the lock assembly, you can inspect the microswitch for any signs of damage or wear. If necessary, replace it with a new one.
the access on your XJ8 is similar
