Default Driver's Door Wiring Questions

In the midst of investigating a non-functioning driver's power window and have two questions:

First, the connector for the cable from the motor is mounted to the door. Feeling behind it there seems to be an prong that you have to compress to release the cable connector mount from the door. Have tried to no avail to get it out. Any tips/tricks how to get it out? I want to put a PowerProbe on the motor terminal and it will be a lot easier if that connector is free of the door.

Second, I have a loose, unconnected cable that was coming out of the door wiring harness. It is the same type connector that went to the speaker and the same color wires. The car is a 2000 XJR. Is this just a spare connector for a second door speaker that is unused? Or should it be plugged into something?

I'd guess the speaker seeming wire is for the tweeters only fitted to the premium sound system, but that is a guess.

I have a 1999 XJ8 that the driver's door window becomes inop every once-in-a-while and a battery HARD RESET fixes the problem.
