Default Easily enhance your key fob logo

This is a simple change but I think it adds a nice touch and who can argue with simple, free and fast.

Basically I took a silver sharpie (gold would look good too) and filled in the growler completely. After it dried a minute I used an alcohol wipe to remove the marker from the raised areas and slightly cleaned up around the head. Next step was to wait for alcohol to evaporate and buff the top with a paper towel.

That's it, on to the pics.

Finished on left, ready to be done on the right

All filled in

First cleaning

All buffed and ready

Wonder if you could goldleaf the crest?

BTW, keeping the fob separate from the key helps to prevent lockouts.

Sure you could, just take some patience but it defeats the cheap and easy motive.

I've yet to be locked out of a car, and I always have a spare at home. I would lose them being separated most likely.

Iv'e done this with golf clubs but never even thought of it for the fob. As a matter of fact I never noticed the Jag face until I looked at it after reading your post. Good thinking.

This might add to the thread, I've a couple of gummed up old remotes that I'm trying to refurb.

The new rubber buttons are FoMoCo - in the UK they're for the Ford Transit.

Very cheap to buy in the UK (just the case+rubber buttons).

I've soaked the buttons in lighter fluid to free off the gummy green stuff, added a battery and I'll see if they work shortly. If not, new buttons.

That means I should have 4 working fobs all in good nick.

Old ones....a bit knackered

Ford kit fits like it's meant to be there, only difference is the lights on the original is now a horn logo, kind of light-like?

All together...

Looks kind of nice without the button legends.

I work mine by touch without taking it out of my pocket anyways. I'm sure you know the buttons just as well
