Default Exhaust tips - Larger oval or Quad?

With the fatter look of the car (concave rims & 275 tires in the rear), the standard XJ8 exhaust tips look rather small and floating in their recess.

I looked at several alternatives, narrowing it down to either some larger ovals, or going for quad tips.
I normally have no problem making decisions , but in this case I am stuck.

I think the ovals always look good, but the (small diameter) quads look more sporty .... keeping in mind that I will probably add the decent Glanz body kid later.

What you think? Poll is open ...

The quads don't look right too me, each opening on each looks too small in the bigger picture. It'd be different with a larger opening so you could go with larger quads, but I'd say as it sits, the ovals as they fill it nicely.

The available set I pictured has 2x6cm (~2x2.4") pipes.
This is about the largest which will fit into the bumper recess without cutting.

Definitely larger ovals. The quads don't look right (in scale to the recesses) and in my opinion do not suit the understated character of the sedan. In case you get the Glanz body kit, does the exhaust recesses will get any wider/broader than standard?

Agree with Plums. The stock XJR ones look perfect to me and in character with our cars.

Default Oval it will be ...

Thank you guys ...

Guess the conclusion is that quads are something different, but just not right on this car, and without cosmetic surgery on other parts (like the bumper cut-outs) to keep it classy.

Confirmed my order for some larger (115mm) oval RezistanZ exhaust tips in the UK just now.
Lots of this stuff is made here in Asia, but I could not find the right quality / shape etc., so went overseas.

We will see what Santa brings in a week.
