I did. Installing new pads should not cause the reservoir to be 'full full' (overfull) unless somebody added fluid to the system with worn pads in place.

That's a common enough error.

As the pads wore down to near nothing, the fluid level went down. I topped it off the the full level.

Yes, when the new pads were installed, it pushed the pistons back on all 4 corners, a lot. The fact that this then caused an overfull situation is then not surprising, or even uncommon, as you said, so why you surprised that this happened then?

The point of my post was that it fixed my ABS light problem for good. To this day that car has had zero abs light issues. That was the main point of my post, my motivation was to be helpful to this community. Given a few others have reported this odd fix worked for them, then this post was helpful. So, to that end, I am happy I posted it.

No I'm not- but I refill the reservoir to the same level as before the flush, not necessarily to the full mark. Doing so would induce an overfull/overflow condition when new pads are fitted.

Adding fluid with partially worn pads is not required. The reservoir contains enough fluid to accommodate four sets of fully worn pads and still be within acceptable limits.
