Foxwell NT530 or similar scanner
Just got the NT530 and loaded Jaguar program. Their technical support has not responded to the problem ticket I submitted yesterday morning and they are now closed until Monday. (They are in China).
Will not auto recognize VIN, so I type in VIN and it correctly recognized car. However, from there it won't let me do anything except back out to main screen. If select Jaguar, asks for same steps to put in VIN again.
It will let me manually select. What comes up is XJ range
2002-2005
choices of normally aspirated V6, supercharged V8, normally aspirated V8 3.5L and normally aspirated V8 4.2L.
Any help appreciated.

I have nt530 too with the latest firmware. x308 doesn't tell vin number. So you have to select the car manually. Nt530 tends to mix x300, x308 and x350. This tester just works whole lot better from x350 onwards. How I "go in" to my car is via selecting other and there vin range etc. Then there is correct engine. It interprets my car vin as x300 and doesn't go in to all modules and I don't fully trust it. I have too made couple tickets about this. But no fix yet.

The ninth character in my VIN is a 0 (zero). This the check digit. If I type in a zero in the VIN entry, I get not recognized. If I type in an O (letter) it is recognized as: Old XJ; 2003; 4.0L AJ27. But, as said before will do nothing else past this screen.
Re your VIN, one of our colleagues, UK_in_NY, got an ‘03 XJ8 several months ago and said best he could tell the final XJ to roll off the line ended with 59525. I can’t recall if his message referenced the sourcing on that number. His car had a 58XXX number he said was roughly 900 units below 59525. My VDP has a VIN of 5850X and a build date of 07/02. If the 59525 is accurate, his car and mine were probably built within days of each other, and yours could well be the last or close to the last one produced.
