Default Front windshield - Triplex vs Aftermarket

My windshield is starting to get pretty haggered from the PO running the wiper dry a lot, pitting, couple chips, and so on, causing some pretty bad glare on night driving. So, it's time for a replacement. Been thinking about just taking the XJR to a Safelite, might be able to have insurance partially cover the replacement, but even if they don't the price is good enough that it's worth paying. Couple questions before I do that though, for those who've done it:

-Is there a noticeable difference (refinement, NVH, etc) between OEM Triplex glass and whatever the common aftermarket options are?

-Can I trust the glass shop to do this without breaking things? As in, is there much that's Jag-specific in the glass replacement process that I should worry about them having issues with? I'd probably do some prep work myself before dropping it off (removing A-pillar inside trim, rearview mirror, sun visors, roof controls)

I love mine from Safelite but they did put the wrong gel pad for my rain sensing wipers so it no longer works. That may be my fault when I filled out the car's specifics online though. Be sure you let them know you have rain sensing wiper & you will be golden.

Awesome, doesn't get any more straightforward than that. I did notice the option for rain sensing wipers when doing a quote, unfortunately no auto wipers on the 99 cars, but that makes windshield install a bit simpler. Looking forward to losing the night time glare!

Yeah mine was a interstate/road warrior before my tenure & the road rash was horrible, huge improvement.
