I have small question. I'm wondering, how do you all deal with the water that may collect under the gas flap during car washes.

I just washed my car the other day and it got me thinking. SO I just took some abortnat rags and stuffed it into the area around the gas. It seems to work as the surrounding area just was a little moist instead of a pool of water as I imagine it would of been otherwise.

Funny you should post that.

I left my XJ40 outside last night and it has been bucketing down all night.
Early this morning I went out in the rain to check the flap drain - all good - the tiny little hole in the rubber apron seems to be clear.

In the fuel cap bowl, there is a little plastic tower which is like a small cage. This pulls out easily and can be rinsed under the hot water tap to clear. If when you look down the drain channel there is a blockage, just find something suitable to clear the blockage with i.e. coat hanger etc.

Hope this helps,
S.
