Default globe replacement on 2000 XJ8

I`m sure this has been dealt with somewhere on this forum, but could anyone tell me how to replace a head lamp, and where to buy one, or if there may be another reason the low beam doesn`t work.

My wife had called home from work upset she had lost one of her low beams, and my orders were to get one coming asap. To be prepared I cruised the forum and came across that poor guy that had to drop his front bumper to access his headlite assemblies, thus the reason for my seemably stupid question. The real kicker is that I live on the Big Island, with no Jaguar parts so one had to be flown in from Honolulu Jaguar. 30.00 for the bulb and 20.00 for the UPS man. No one wants to use the mail, as that probably would have cost about a dollar. Thanks Sean B.

For future readers, the lowbeam bulb on a X308 is a standard halogen that is carried by most auto parts outlets. It is used on a variety of vehicles and is not unique to Jaguar.

Who needed to drop their bumper to get at the headlights on a X308? There is so much room under the bonnet I use it when I run out of boot space! LOL

Not sure why the reference to a X308, as I was inquiring about a XJ8. And when I went searching my usual outlets for automotive parts, I was told they had no numbers to index for Jaguar. Now perhaps with bulb in hand I may have been offered a match, but in my case a town trip involves 60miles of travel. Thanks just the same.

All XJ's between 1998-2002 (-2003 in the US) are X308 generation. Previous generation is X300, newer X350, and the latest X351.

The X308 has standard H7 halogen bulbs, and there's no need to remove the bumper to change them. Must've been some other generation car, or a different model all together.

X308 is the Jaguar model designation for XJ sedans for the years 1998-2003.

edit: JKo already did the honours.
