I have a question mainly about electrics,its a multiple one so bare with me. Drivers seat going back when key removed,drivers window not working,Disconnected battery for a couple of minutes all working fine.I do not have a working remote fob so have to lock and unlock with key.
next- Fitted new MAF sensor,car will only start from cold If I disconnect MAF plug,starts up refit plug everything fine.
Got me stumped.
i have read that locking with key renders drivers window inoperable.

 

Try a hard reset by disconnecting the negative battery lead and touching to the positive post for a few seconds to discharge capacitors, then reconnect and turn ignition on, but do not start for 30 seconds. Finally, reset windows be lowering, wait several seconds for click, then raise and wait for click.

You can disable the seat movement with the column switch to OFF.
Check for DTCs in the DDM (Driver's Door Module) for faults?

Install OLD MAFS and see if the engine starts from cold? (maybe faulty new MAFS?)

Failing battery (low voltage?)

 

It would be good to know where you are located. If in a cold neighborhood, the starting problem may be a bad temperature sensor. We see it a lot on this forum in the Winter (and in OZ in June). It doesn't get that cold where Bob is.

But, my God was the Gremlin a piece of crap!! I had a 66 Ford Galaxy that almost as bad!

Battery is brand new and fully charged
Have fitted a new coolant temp sensor
Will refit old MAF and try that
I will do the other items as you suggest I am changing the purge valve when it arrives as it has been suggested that could be faulty.
