Default Having a few issues with my 2000 XJR...

Hello, I am having a couple issues I'd like to resolve with my XJR. 1st issue is the speakers do not allow sound from the radio. The radio works, tells me the station and what song is playing at that time, but I cant get any sound. I have tried to check all fuses to see if thats my problem (issue #2 is that I have no owners manual to know what fuse is to what) so I have checked every fuse there is, which leads to issue #3. Half of the fuses test as faulty/blown, I remove them, they look fine, replace anyways, still read as faulty blown. This is happening to every other fuse in the fuse panel in the front and rear. I am also looking for a couple parts for my Jag as well. I need a navigation DVD, owners manual and a cartridge for the CD changer. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do or where to look for problem solving/parts?

Thank you for your time,
Jason

Jason:
Heres betting half your fuses arn't blown, so your test must be fauklty. Many fuses in a Jaguar are in circuits not enregizec until the key is in the on position. A valid test for a blown fuse is EITHER, a resistance test with the fuse removed, OR a voltage test to ground proving voltage on both sides of the fuse. If neither side has voltage, no conclusion about the fuse may be drawn.

As to a manual, have you taken the time to look in the FAQ sticky? You might just find the vehicle care pdf for the MY 2000 XJ8. The XJR has no separate manual.

And finally, it is unlikely that your problem is a fuse. You will need to troubleshoot the audio connections,, but my GUESS is thatit is the radio itself.

And lastly, red is not a particukarly easy color to read on a cimputer screen for some of us.

I'm troubleshooting no right side speaker sound for radio/nav/cassette myself.

Once you dig up a CD cartridge, try that. It's a different audio path and mine works fine, eliminating the amplifier (or at least the amplification circuitry) as the culprit.

if you want to have a complete car, go for the navigation disk, otherwise I would skip it. the last time they updated the maps was in the early 2000s, and the GPS is relatively useless, I have had much better luck with a portable garmin/tomtom type suction cup GPS.

I get all of my stuff from EXPRESSPARTSCENTER.COM
it's a dealership in the washington dc area

When I tested the fuses I had the car running. I figure that half the fuses are not blown, but something is causing them to not read as good. As far as I have noticed, all electrical stuff is working on this car other than the sound getting to the speakers. Someone above mentioned an amplifier. Is there a built in amplifier in this car? If so, does anyone know where it is located so I can check from that point? I found and downloaded/printed the "Vehicle Care Handbook" (thanks by the way) but am still looking for a pdf of the Owners Manual. As of yet, I can not find one on this forum. Does anyone know if there is one on here, and if so, where is it at? Once again, thank you to all who have helped me so far, and thanks to those who will help in the near future.
Thanks,
Jason

P.S. Is blue easier on the eyes?

Jason:
Thanks for the new color! Sorry, I thought the driver's manual was there also. It used to be on the Jaguar site, but I see they only have currewnt models now. You might try fleabay.
What method are you using to test a fuse?
