Default Headlight Question

Just picked up a pair of X308 headlights with bracket mount to install into a X300 . Don't know which L or R side it belongs as it was just laying unattached inside the donor car .

Is the small courtesy ( or exit ) light on the outboard most position with the bulb in the lower half of the reflector dish ?

The small bulb is on the inner, high beam, headlamp (unusual arrangement). There is also a letter "L" or "R" (rather small) on the back of the bracket mount.

Thanks ,

They had it marked in grease pencil as R but the mounting bracket seemed to mount on the L . The courtesy light position is opposite from the X300 then . I'll look closer for the factory marking as I saw some . I will have to find a L to make a complete set as it looks much better between the year versions .

Thanks again , Parker

Tell us how it works out. If direct fitment. I owned a 1995 VDP flamenco w/ white full Autolux interior (special ordered) ... car was stunning. I actually preferred the overall styling of the X300 ... but the headlights in the X308 were much better.

Supposed to be a direct fitment if you use the X308 mounting bracket and some wiring changes . The previous owner on mine reused a busted up X300 mount missing some hardware . I'll get a picture with the X300's on one side of the car and X308's on the other

Cars are strange -- you never know what's changed and why. I remember having to buy the whole X300 assembly when a rock took out a lens ... my memory is $200 + wholesale and a very quick switch out. No individual parts available.

The X308 changes in the radiator and AC systems .. was wondering if anything in the way.
