You must be using a non-Jaguar P code list. P1121 is Pedal Position Sensor which is part of the throttle body and is not available as a separate part. P1642 is a CANetwork error and very well could originate with the PPS. P1111 is a normal code announcing everything is clear and all codes have met their drive cycle requirements.

As far as not starting, a fuel pressure check is probably in order. A fuel pump is one of the only major failures that does not have any OBDII monitoring/reporting.

First I would reset the CEL and see what happens. If the P1121 comes back try removing the electrical connections to the TB, cleaning and reconnecting. If it keeps reoccurring you might have a rebuilt throttle body in your future.

Check the FAQ Sticky at the top of the XK8/R forum for a good OBDII code list and download information on the Jaguar Technical Information System (JTIS).

Ok....I will try that. I guess in the sticky notes they have where I can find the throttle body and connections..Can you point me to where I can find out how to test the fuel pump pressure?...Sticky notes? And is it a bitch to replace the throttle body?....

Here is a link to GUS' page on the TB connectors: TBoddy

And here is the fuel pressure test, also from GUS. XK8 & S-Type Fuel Pressure Test

Both references are from the FAQ Sticky, a Jaguar owner's best friend. But don't take that as criticism of a newbe. We all started out trying to figure out how to best use the forum.

Where in GA?

The throttle body is held down with 4 10mm bolts, it's easy to remove with a socket and extension bar. The TB you have has 4 connectors, unclip and clean all with electrical contact cleaner - there's one that's tricky to remove, the throttle position sensor, I use a very small screwdriver to release the locking tab.

One thing you can check is the movement of the throttle butterfly when you turn the ignition on, does it move when you press the pedal? you may need someone to keep an eye on it as you slowly press down.

Fuel pressure is a solid tip, Test Point's pretty much nailed the process to follow.

Hi
The JTIS21 has all of the Jaguar DTC (Diagnoise Trouble Codes lists) within it plus all of the repair instructions and illustrations.

Here is JTIS21 download information and its use instructions include in this thread (see post# 5):
Jaguar XJ8 INFO

There have been no reported problems with the new JTIS21 download (all responses have shown sucessful downloads and many of the forum members are using it).

From what I see you may have a power problem or a TB plug issue. Did toy experience a flickering (power) problem? If not I would look into the TB Plug as Tom suggested, also this link will give you the P codes to help http://gusglikas.com/images/AutoRepa...J27%201999.pdf

Default Fuel issue fixed!!!!!

Well, it was the fuel pump........3.5 hours later Im back on the road!!!! Thanks Ross and TP , and Gus for all the help!! Hey, a little trick- I only removed the big fuel line and not the small one.....That gave me enough slack to tilt the tank out to replace the fuel pump!!!! Mostly because I lost the tool in the frame somewhere.lol....And HAD to make it work!!!! Fired right up!!! Thanks all.....
