How do I remove the pinstripe?
I did a quick search but couldn't find anything.
Does anyone have any idea how to do this? My 98 XJR has a pinstripe but to be honest I think it detracts from the lines of the car.
It seems painted on and when you run your fingers over it, it is slightly raised. I tested a small area where the line starts inside the door and managed to use my finger nail to flake a tiny bit off. If I do this for the whole car though I won't have any finger nails left by the end of it.
Any suggestions?

Out of interest what stops the eraser wheel from rubbing through the other paint?

As you're in Reading, you'll want a UK supplier. The online supplier bodyshop247.co.uk stock an 84mm Rubber Eraser Wheel suitable for pinstripe removal.

I don't know how it went but the factory coach lines ("pinstripes") are normally placed onto the last coat of paint and before the lacquer coats so they cannot be removed as they are under lacquer (unless you respray you car).

I had my pinstripe replace recently, because, well I like them. The left front wing had a ding, so needed a re-spray so I had to figure out what to do.
I bought my X308 in the USA when we lived there. I was told that a lot of Jaguars put striping on themselves. And it seems to be the case with mine.
So taking the old striping off, which was just a decal, was done by carefullheating with a hot air gun and a little plastic scraper.
It did come off alright, but the paint was ever so slightly blemished. Not a problem in my case as we put new ones on top of it
You can read all about it here, need to scroll down a bit:
