Default I need help drivers seat improvement

Hello Folks

I just bought a daimler super v8 SWB quite rare But I need an improvement with my seat
Is someone out there who has ever done or modified the seat rails to extend them or is there another option that I can slide the seat a bit more backwards that's very important for me I'm 6'8 I can drive around town but not longer distance.

Many thanks for any advise jean

Try these folks. They claim they can make extenders for taller people.

Do what Hightower did (police academy movie) and just remove the drivers seat and sit in the backseat to drive from.

Maybe you could get a set of custom brackets made up? Certainly they need to be very sturdy to hold your mass in a crash safely, but I'd think it would be a relatvely simple job to fab up for a metal shop.

I modified my XJ6 and both XK8's by using 3/8" x 1" flat stock. Basically just drill and countersink the new piece for flat head machine screws to mount in the existing holes and tap threads to mount the track.

As a cautionary side note, it would probably be important to advise your insurance company and make sure that whatever is done wouldn't void the coverage if anything were to happen.

I would think that areas of concern would be more than the structural integrity or capacity of the seat rails and anchors but the new seating position itself relative to air-bags (front and side), seat belt anchors (particularly the outboard one that is restricted to being on the B pillar) etc...
