I am in the process of getting more of my xj8 parts laying around ready to sell. I want to sell the key and all lock cylinders as a set. I have a problem of not readily seeing how to remove the lock cylinder from the steering column. I have the same question about the glove box. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance

 

This is from the 2003 XK series shop manual. I doubt the XJ is too different.

Thanks for the information! I was concerned about breaking the glovebox! Now if I only knew how to remove the ignition lock cylinder from the steering column! Alldata doesnt have any of this stuff, unfortunately

After you lower the the cowl - see if the lock cylinder can be removed using the information provided by member cylons:
