Ivory Seat Repair
Hey guys, so when I picked up my xj8 everything was in mint condition except the drivers seat which was terribly cracked. I purchased a kit from Leatherworldtech and redid the seats about a month ago. UNfortunately I forgot to take before pics, but you can get an idea from my leather filler picture.
Here are the results:
Before dyeing-

Five or so coats in-

Yesterday after 2000 miles of use-

MY only complaint is that it took more coats than I expected probably due to the heavy use of filler, but the 8 oz bottle was more than enough. The texture is great and it seems to have held up so far. I didn't purchase the kit from them wither. I just purchased the dye for 25ish and the filler for 12 I believe. Feel free to ask any questions. For 40 bucks and maybe 2 hours altogether of work (not including drying times) Im very satisfied.

Looks good!
Seems now your steering wheel is waiting for the same treatment
How did you manage the stitching?
I tried to avoid the dye on them (and my seat was in far better condition ten yours), but it seems nearly impossible.

Thanks! And yeah the steering wheel needs to be done too haha. I think its oatmeal though so I'll have to order some dye.
I actually didn't avoid the stitches when they were in the area I was dyeing. This dye is extremely thin, which is part of the reason it required so many coats. Because it is thin, it really couldn't close up/plug the stitches and didn't really show on them if that makes sense.
